Routine maintenance is the single best way to protect your HVAC investment. We clean coils, check refrigerant levels, test electrical components, replace filters, and verify safety controls so small issues never become emergencies.
We recommend two visits per year: spring for cooling and fall for heating. Most maintenance plans pay for themselves in lower utility bills and fewer repairs.
Think of HVAC maintenance the way you think about an oil change. Skipping it does not cause an immediate breakdown, but it slowly wears the system down. Coils get dirty, refrigerant charge drifts, electrical components weaken, and a system that was sized perfectly when it was installed is suddenly running 20 percent longer to do the same job. By the time you notice the higher power bill, the damage is already done.
A spring AC tune-up gets your system ready for Cullman summer heat. We wash the outdoor coil, check refrigerant pressures, test the capacitor and contactor, inspect the blower wheel, flush the condensate drain, replace or recommend a fresh filter, and verify the thermostat is reading accurately. By the time we leave, the system is ready to run hard through July and August.
A fall heating tune-up gets your furnace or heat pump ready for winter. On a gas furnace we inspect the heat exchanger, clean the flame sensor, check ignition, measure gas pressure, verify proper venting, and test the safety controls. On a heat pump we check defrost operation, refrigerant pressures, and the auxiliary heat strips. We also confirm the carbon monoxide detector in the home is functioning, because winter heating is when CO risk is highest.
Filter changes are the easy part of maintenance, and they make the biggest difference. A clogged filter chokes airflow, forces the blower to work harder, and is the number one cause of frozen coils in summer and overheated furnaces in winter. We will recommend a filter type and a change schedule that fits your home, your pets, and your allergies.
