    Heating Repair in Cullman, AL

No heat is more than an inconvenience. We get furnaces and heat pumps running again quickly and safely.

    Overview

    What you can expect

From ignition issues and failed flame sensors to bad blower motors and tripped limits, we troubleshoot the full range of heating problems. Safety always comes first. We check combustion, venting, and gas pressure on every furnace repair.

We service gas furnaces, electric furnaces, and heat pumps. If your system is on its last winter, we will be honest with you and help you plan ahead.

Cullman winters are usually manageable, but the cold snaps that come through in January and February push every heating system. That is when the weak links show up: a flame sensor that has been getting dirtier for two years, a blower capacitor that finally gave up, a heat pump reversing valve that is sticking, a thermostat with a dying battery. We diagnose all of it.

Gas furnace problems often trace to ignition. Modern furnaces use a hot surface ignitor or a spark ignitor and a flame sensor to detect the burner. When the flame sensor gets coated with soot or oxidation it stops sensing the flame, and the furnace shuts down on safety. A simple cleaning often gets it running again. If the ignitor itself is cracked, we replace it.

Limit switches are a safety feature. They open when the furnace gets too hot, which usually means restricted airflow. A dirty filter, a blocked return, or a failing blower motor is the underlying cause. We clear the airflow issue, not just reset the limit.

Heat pumps have their own diagnostic process. The reversing valve, the defrost cycle, and the auxiliary heat strips all need to be working together. If your heat pump is blowing cool air in heating mode, the reversing valve or the defrost controls are usually the culprit. We check refrigerant pressures in heating mode, verify the defrost board, and confirm the aux heat is engaging when it should.

Strange smells, short cycling, uneven heating room to room, the blower running constantly: those are all symptoms with real causes. We do not guess. We measure, diagnose, and explain what we find. If a repair makes sense, we do it. If the unit is past its useful life, we will walk you through [furnace installation](/services/furnace-installation) options without pressure.
